Questions

What kind of services do you provide?

CareSense provides various services across Pennsylvania to families just like yours. A full list of services is available in “Our Care” page. To learn how we might be able to help your family specifically, do not hesitate to contact us. We’ll administer a personal assessment and develop a custom plan of care.

Where do you provide services?

Our headquarters is located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. However, at the time we service most of the state of PA. Please contact us to confirm availability of services.

Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or assisted living facilities?

Absolutely. CareSense provides eldercare and companionship to many seniors who require additional attention and/or personalized long term care and reside in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Are your Caregivers insured and bonded?

Absolutely. Every Caregiver is employed by CareSense. To help ensure the safety of our clients and the quality of care, we perform a criminal background check and cover each Caregiver with liability and worker’s compensation insurance.

Is CareSense a cleaning company or maid service?

No, our Caregivers focus on caring for individuals who require additional attention and care. However, CareSense Caregivers can provide light housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation.

What happens if my Caregiver gets sick or is not able to come?

CareSense counts with a vast network of professionals who work as a team, so if one Caregiver is unavailable, we make every effort to make another team member available to meet your home care needs.

What makes CareSense different from other companies?

CareSense has a culture of utmost sensitivity and respect for our patients. Our Caregivers become part of the CareSense philosophy. We ensure Patient-Caregiver compatibility and quality of care. Because we constantly review and optimize our operations, we have an efficiency and quality of care that’s unsurpassed in the industry. CareSense has earned a deep level of trust among clients, their family members and friends, and enjoys an outstanding reputation with various home health care, medical and social elder care organizations around the state.

Why should I use CareSense rather than an individual with an ad in the newspaper?

There are several reasons why a CareSense Caregiver should be your choice:

  • CareSense Caregivers are screened, bonded and insured for your safety and peace of mind.
  • CareSense Caregivers are competency tested, and have a sincere desire to help others.
  • CareSense handles all Caregiver’s payment and withholding of taxes as required by law.
  • The CareSense network of quality staff ensures there will usually be a compatible and reliable Caregiver for you.
  • CareSense is there for our patients, just a phone call away. We are eager to help, at any time.

Will I have a choice of who comes to my home?

Certainly. We encourage consumers to be involved in the decision-making process. And we will do our best to match you and your family with the right Caregiver. If you are not satisfied we are not satisfied. We will try to accommodate any requests you may have for a change in Caregivers.

Will I always receive care from the same Caregiver?

Our goal is to establish a long-term relationship between the Caregiver and the patient. Should you desire to request another Caregiver for any reason, we’ll search for a match until you are pleased. We understand that a strong relationship, and confidence with a Caregiver is crucial to a successful home care experience.

If you receive care for many hours in a day or at different times of the day throughout the week, it may be necessary to schedule more than one Caregiver in a given week. If your family requires multiple Caregivers, our goal is the same: we want you to be satisfied and happy. We’ll do what it takes to make sure we achieve that goal.

Can CareSense help with medications?

We can help in reminding individuals to take their medications. We can also report any side effects and assist with pre-measured medication packages.

Can I change or discontinue the services I receive?

Absolutely. One of the advantages of using CareSense is that there never is a long term contract or commitment. You can change the number or type of services we provide whenever it’s necessary. We understand that life is dynamic and situations can quickly change, so we are as flexible as possible with your care.

Do I need a physician’s authorization for your services?

You don’t need pre-authorization, pre-qualification, certification or even a prescription for our non-skilled services. You choose the services you want, when to start those services and how often those services are used. If you request assistance with billing a private insurance policy (such as long-term care insurance) for our services, we’re happy to help with the entire “benefits coordination” process. This includes providing any documentation you need for reimbursement by an insurance carrier. A Physician prescription will be required for any of our skilled services including nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as social work services.

What are the costs of your services?

Every family we serve receives a personalized Consumer Information Package specific to their needs. Several factors help determine the exact cost:

  • Number of hours of care per week
  • Level of home care services received (special needs, Alzheimer’s, etc.)
  • Location where services are provided

Our services are typically billed on an hourly basis. This makes it easy to estimate costs. To discuss the exact rates for the services you may need, contact our office. Well set up a personal consultation to begin discussing a custom care plan and the rates for each service on your plan.

Rates will be provided in writing in the personalized Consumer Information Package prior to initiating services. Rates will never be increased without at least thirty days notice.

Are home care services covered by insurance or Medicare?

Medicare does not typically pay for the type of non skilled hourly personal care service that CareSense provides. However, if your Long Term Insurance covers our services, we will be happy to assist in the claim process.  Additionally, Veterans and their spouses may be eligible for free home care services. Contact us for more information.
Medicare and private insurance will usually cover our skilled services including nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as social services.

Do I pay the Caregiver directly?

No. All payments are directly to CareSense. We handle all the billing, payroll, taxes, insurance and administrative responsibilities. You are only invoiced after the completion of services. Usually, this happens bi-weekly. And you’ll never be asked to pay an additional fee to any employee.

CareSense seems like a great choice. What’s the next step?

Give us a call. We’ll arrange a time to meet you and your family, and we’ll be delighted to share the CareSense culture and philosophy. Together, we’ll go over the care you need and the care we can provide. We’ll answer all of your questions regarding services and costs. Then, we’ll design your custom care plan and match your loved one with the right Caregiver. Usually, care can begin in just a few days.
